The oil pipe is usually made from plastic and steel tubes with the inner diameter ranging from (100-1,220 mm (4-48 inches). These pipes are buried underground at depth of about 0.91 to 1.83 m (3 to 6 feet) and are used to transport liquid, typically petroleum over long distances. To protect the pipes from corrosion, abrasion, or impact a variety of methods are used.
