Scientists at the Vienna Institute for International Economic Research have proposed the creation of a high-speed rail network to accelerate the recovery of the EUROPEAN Union economy.

According to EuroPulse, trains will be able to travel at speeds of up to 350 km/h, allowing journey time within Europe to be halved. Mobility using these trains will be faster than aircraft (taking into account the time needed to reach the airport and pass checkpoints and control).
This proposal is one of the proposals proposed by the Vienna Institute for International Economic Research (ATI) group of scientists on the recovery of the EU economy after the "Coved-19" pandemic.
According to their calculations, the bulk of the existing railway lines meet the requirements for the launch of high-speed trains, and only 4 lines must be completed: Lisbon-Helsinki, Dublin-Paris, (the train crosses the Manche on ferries), Brussels-Valletta, and Berlin-Nicosia, (also with the use of ferries).
By operating these branches, flight time within Europe will be reduced, and greenhouse gas emissions will decrease by 5%, as a result of a decrease in the number of domestic flights. Freight trains can also use railway lines to transport goods, thereby reducing the use of road transport as well.
